I have an observer class called AttendanceObserver which sends an
email everytime a record is inserted into the Attendance table. But
there are several other actions when I also save into that table but I
don’t want to send an e-mail. Does anybody knows is there a way to do
this and maybe specify a save into an attendance table without calling
the after\_create method below? Thanks,

Elioncho

```auto
AttendanceObserver < ActiveRecord::Observer
  def after_create(attendance)
     attendance.user.send_message(attendance.user, 'text', 'You have
been invited to an event')
UserMailer.deliver_event_notification(attendance.user,attendance.event)
  end
end
```
