I’m pushing my rails app to a server. My local development machine
has localhost:3000/… as the working URL, but the server has it set
up so that the URL points to a named directory, e.g. [server.com/dir](http://server.com/dir)

So when I push the app to the server, it finds the index just fine at
[server.com/dir](http://server.com/dir), but when I click on a link, the “dir” drops out. For
example, If I have a thingy controller, instead of pointing to
[server.com/dir/thingy](http://server.com/dir/thingy), it creates the URL [server.com/thingy](http://server.com/thingy), and I get
a “page not found” error.

Is there some way to set up routes to point to [server.com/dir](http://server.com/dir) as the
base? Or is this some sort of no-no?

TIA,
Craig

Sorry for this post–this of course turned out to be a phusion/apache
configuration issue. Mea culpa. Although it’s really teaching me how
important restful routes are 🙂
