It sure does seem like there is something on your system that is
interefering.
Try booting up in SAFE mode with Networking and see if it works then
(that
will prevent most software from runninig on startup). If it works, it
won’t
solve your problem, but it will confirm the hypothesis that something is
interfering.
Figuring out what is conflicting could be painful, but the way I would
do
it would be use msconfig to do a binary search of sorts where you keep
disabling things until starts working.
