Problems installing rails

I’ve installed Ruby and Rubygems, but when I launch the command prompt
and type:

Attempting local installation of ‘rails’
Local gem file not found: rails*.gem
Attempting remote installation of ‘rails’
ERROR: While executed gem …
404 Not Found

Now I did something else and its saying error 300 Multiple Choices.

Is there a better guide to installing rails somewhere? Or can someone
help me out.

please check version of gem installed,

gem -v

yesterday after upgrading my gem to 0.9 , I had some strange problems

please always give additional info about OS and ruby version, that will
help others to isolate and replicate your issue
