What could be causing this crash ? also is --with-http\_mp4\_module stable  
enough to be replace h264.code-shop module.

Any help to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

First of all I would recommend to test if you are able to  
reproduce the problem without 3rd party modules compiled in.

Thanks Maxim for looking into my issue.

I recompiled nginx with no 3rd party module & debugging enabled.

[root@localhost sbin]# ./nginx -V  
nginx version: nginx/1.2.8  
built by gcc 4.4.7 20120313 (Red Hat 4.4.7-3) (GCC)  
configure arguments: --with-http\_stub\_status\_module  
–with-http\_perl\_module  
–with-http\_flv\_module --with-http\_mp4\_module --with-debug

there is no nginx.core file found in /home/core/ , thats the path  
specified  
in nginx.conf

but i still keep seeing

Make sure:

- /home/core/ is writable (chmod a+w)
- ulimit is configured correctly
- fs.suid\_dumpable is ok?

It looks like you forgot to restart (or upgrade binary on the  
fly), and old nginx with 3rd party modules is still running.
