I had Mysql/ruby/rails running (although slowly) on an old windows xp
box. having access to better hardware on local network, i chose to
remove mysql locally and am able to connect to server via mysql query
browser and other tools.

what i have corrupted is the minimal configuration that i need on
local machine to have ruby on rails launch.

i also used the rebuild to version up ruby, gems, rails, etc.

what is the minimum mysql i need to carry on the slow machine before i
point to the network server?

thanks,
chris
