Keeping Someone Logged In

After someone logs into my system and then closes their browser they
are logged out of the system and have to re-login. How to I make sure
the person stays logged in until they explicitly choose to log out?

Better yet on login if the person selects ‘keep me logged in’ how do I
keep the user logged in?

Thanks for your help :-).

John:

I’ve had great results using the method outlined here:

http://www.turnofthecrank.com/2006/03/08/how-to-persist-rails-sessions-via-cookies-using-the-login-engine-plugin/

It is specifically tailored to the Login Engine, but you can apply the
concepts to any login system you use/write.
