My company ( http://www.codeweavers.net/ ) is trying recruit a
developer to produce dynamic data-driven websites.
We are after people who understand and can apply:
- the latest Web 2.0 technologies, including XHTML, CSS, JavaScript/
Ajax and Web Services - object-oriented programming
- relational databases (we use PostgreSQL)
- unit testing / test-driven development
Most of our existing work is in C#, but we are beginning to switch to
Rails and it will hopefully drive all our future sites.
Our servers run FreeBSD, so experience of this or a similar operating
system would be useful, but is by no means essential. We could
benefit from someone who has - or is willing to learn - some sysadmin
skills alongside the development. (We use Ruby extensively for
automation too.)
Experience with the specific technologies we use is an advantage, but
our main requirements are a sound understanding of the principles of
software development and relational databases, and recent examples of
high-quality work.
We will accept foreign applications, but note that everyone will have
to attend an interview at the office in Stoke.
