Hi Rubyists and Railsians,

One of my recruiting clients is in desperate need to hire 6 back-end
Technical Developers. This are fairly junior positions and the salaries
are $60K to $80K depending on experience and demonstrated skillset.

They are looking for strong back-end web developers skilled in Java and
some open source technology stack. Positions do include up to 50%
travel as these are consulting positions. This is a super great
company. One of my old bosses is the head honcho.

I am paying $750 referral reward if the candidate you refer to me gets
hired after the 90 day guarantee period. Do you know anyone?

Technical Developer - Boston, MA and Austin, TX
Walden Recruiting’s client company has been known as a leader in
building enterprise applications using Open Source technologies and
contributing to the Open Source code base.

They currently seek several Technical Developers to join their
consulting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior
developer or recent college graduate to gain professional experience
working on open source projects with some of the best in the industry.
There is 50% travel involved so it’s a great chance to see the country
as well.

Qualifications:
• 1-5 years of technical development experience
• Basic understanding of the following: Object-oriented design and
development concepts; algorithms, data structures, web development
technologies (JavaScript, AJAX); database design theory and SQL
• Strong knowledge of either C or Java and familiarity with scripting
languages such as PHP or Python
• Solid experience with debugging, reuse, source code management
strategies (e.g. forking, branching), and/or release management
• Some experience with web design and information architecture
• BS in Computer Science preferably
• Open to 50% travel around the United States

Candidates must have current work authorization in the US. This client
will not sponsor visa candidates. Candidates should live in the Boston
area or be willing to relocate to Boston. Positions also open in
Austin, TX.

Really? Note how the posting doesn’t mention Ruby at all? This doesn’t
bode
well – am I being overly pessimistic?
