# Gem error

Hi  
Im attempting to install mongrel using gem, i have:  
gem 1.0.1  
ruby 1.8.6  
when i run sudo gem install mongrel  
i get the following message:  
Building native extensions. This could take a while…  
ERROR: Error installing mongrel:  
ERROR: Failed to build gem native extension.

/usr/bin/ruby extconf.rb install mongrel  
creating Makefile

make  
sh: make: command not found

Gem files will remain installed in  
/usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/fastthread-1.0.1 for inspection.  
Results logged to  
/usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/fastthread-1.0.1/ext/fastthread/gem\_make.out

I have checked google but not found anything to solve my problem,  
could anyone help me?  
Im using linux (foresight 2)

Looks like you don’t have `make’ on your system (or in your $PATH).  
If that’s the case, install it (dunno anything about foresight Linux,  
so can’t help with that) and try again.

Taking a peep in here might tell you more about what went wrong.
