this is the first time i’m using ruby and what’s the first step do i need to take? ---

Is programming something new for you? If so, then try to start learning OOP in general, and then go and pick a Ruby book 🙂 ---

The perfect start, a new book, available as an ebook and a print book! Beginning Ruby, From Novice to Professional by Peter C., from Apress [http://www.goodbyehelicopter.com/2007/03/28/nice-new-ruby-book/](http://www.goodbyehelicopter.com/2007/03/28/nice-new-ruby-book/) But actually I’ve not seen a bad Ruby book yet. And every one is also an eBook. The Pragmattic Programmer’s eBooks are the most liberal with zero DRM (except the purchaser’s name embedded in the file) and 100% printing capability. This is nice to me because sometimes I like to edit my pdf file just the same as I write in or mark up a book!
