# Deploy / maitain / devel tool survey

Hello.

Do you know some tools to ease deploy/maitain/devel/update tasks? I know  
Capistrano… Are there any other tools or tips? All suggestions are  
welcome.

Here’s a tip. Ask a clear concise question and you will probably get  
helpful  
responses. I’m pretty sure you just asked everyone to list every tool  
and  
piece of information you could possibly use whilst doing anything  
related to  
software development. It would be much better to pose a much more  
specific  
request. Like “What is your favourite automated deployment tool for a  
Linux  
environment with Subversion, MySQL, Apache and Ruby 1.8.6 (MRI)?” or  
“What  
is the easiest full text search solution for Oracle from a deployment  
perspective”.

The question you asked is a great one for rails-talk mailing list (good  
luck) but a poor one for this Deployment list.

Not trying to be a prick, but a better question will get better  
responses.
