Default page in the public directory

Hi,
I have an index.html file in the public directory in my rails system.
However, when I go to the DNS, the site is not defaulting to the
index.html file that I have there. I get the following when I visit it:

Routing Error

Recognition failed for “/”

Anyone out there got this to work?

Please help! Anyone know how to do this or why it’s not routing
properly?

what do you expect it to be doing?
