actually, Greg’s answer was not responsive to the OP
The OP simply asked if there were issues running Rails on RedHat.
His answer wasn’t about Rails at all, only his opinion about rpm vs apt
which was not the point at all.
I thought this was a Rails list but if you prefer…OK - Windows sucks
