I have spent most of today trying to make the ajax.Autocompleter work
in a Rails 3 application.

To this point, I can get the autocompleter.local to work, but not the
AJAX version.

The View:
= form\_for [:admin, @contact] do |f|
= f.error\_messages
%p
= f.label :name\_first, “First”
= f.text\_field :name\_first
= f.label :name\_mi, “M”
= f.text\_field :name\_mi, :size =\> “5px”
= f.label :name\_last, “Last”
= f.text\_field :name\_last
%p
= f.label :name\_salutation, “Salutation”
= f.text\_field :name\_salutation, :size =\> “60px”
(ex. Mrs. Jones)
%p
= f.label :title, “Title”
= f.text\_field :title, :size =\> “60px”
%p
= f.label :org\_name
= f.text\_field :org\_name
%div.autocomplete#org\_list

:javascript
new ajax.Autocompleter(‘contact\_org\_name’, ‘org\_list’, “http://
localhost:3000/admin/contacts/autocomplete”)
%p
= render 'autocomplete’eter
%p
= f.radio\_button :is\_male, “true”
= f.label “Male”
= f.radio\_button :is\_male, “false”
= f.label “Female”
%p
= f.radio\_button :is\_married, “true”
= f.label “Married”
= f.radio\_button :is\_married, “false”
= f.label “Single”

%p
= f.submit
