Platform Engineering Manager

CipherHealth is seeking a bright, hard-working, great-listening, tech-savvy person to serve as Platform Engineering Manager to oversee the continued development of our platform service. As a member of our technology leadership team, you will partner with other technical leaders and engineers to define, implement, and drive best practices in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and microservice development.

You will partner with Product, software engineering, security, and architecture to solve operational problems and balance short-term and long-term needs. Your efforts will ensure that CipherHealth’s platform remains functional and available for the healthcare workers and hospitals providing necessary care around the country.

Responsibilities

  • Work in collaboration with Product and Technology leadership to support, contribute to and execute on the platform and product vision, including the development of Services Oriented Architectures
  • Directly manage the work of engineers on Ruby and NodeJS systems including the development and application of a performance management framework
  • Manage the engineering recruitment process to grow the team according to plan
  • Develop training and continuous development methodologies to ensure high quality talent has a meaningful path forward with us for years to come
  • Assess and select frameworks and solutions to improve our systems performance, stability, and maintainability
  • Requirements

    • 4+ years experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities
    • Formal engineering background, ideally with an advanced CS degree
    • Exceptional communication skills and consensus building skills
    • Passion for helping people: our developers, our team, and the customers we serve
    • Demonstrable experience with Ruby (Rails), Node.JS, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and related technologies
    • Experience working with public cloud technologies specifically AWS, Azure, GCP (preferred)
    • Nice-to-Have

      • Healthcare related experience
      • Regulated data experience: healthcare, finance, education
