Head of Engineering

Job Description

Posted about 1 month ago

Crystal helps companies deeply understand the personality, behavior, and motivations of their key stakeholders -- employees, customers, prospects and job candidates. Our DISC-based SaaS platform provides assessments and AI predictions that turn personality insights into an ongoing competitive advantage for communication, sales, hiring, team-building, and employee development. Crystal has raised $7M in VC funding led by Salesforce Ventures, has thousands of customers globally and is currently an ambitious remote team of 20 people.

The Role

As we build and scale Crystal over the next few years, our product engineering team is growing along with it. We're building the largest, most accurate personality platform in the world - it's a huge project that requires close collaboration between data analysis, machine learning, and social science. Our engineering team packs a powerful punch, and we often surprise people with our balance of fast pace and quality/stability.

As the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for overall technical direction and leadership at Crystal. You will work alongside Crystal’s Executive Team to ensure that our product and technical systems are stable and ready for expansion.

This is a unique role for a talented and entrepreneurial engineer who enjoys coding, can occasionally manage AWS infrastructure, has a passion for people, and a desire to lead. Your time will initially break down as 85% individual contributor development, 15% management, coaching and recruiting. As the team grows, those time breakdowns will likely evolve as well.
