As a Cloud Consultant, you will report to the Professional Services Manager and work with Mission’s customers to assess their needs, develop strategic roadmaps, and help deploy applications on highly available, complex AWS infrastructure. The Professional Services team builds AWS cloud solutions on behalf of our customers.
This position is 100% remote.
Consult with customers to understand business and technical needs
Develop strategic roadmaps and project plans based on customer goals
Document and present recommendations to customers
Work with Cloud Engineers to validate technical plans and time estimates
Implement customer roadmaps in coordination with engineers
Support development of CI/CD pipelines for application stacks, centralized logging solutions, reusable Infrastructure-as-Code
Work with Project Managers to set customer expectations, drive alignment, and coordinate timelines
Support pre-sales engineers in proposal design and positioning
Support Consulting Services process improvement initiatives
Support client discovery efforts and workshops
2+ years in a customer-facing consulting role
4+ years experience deploying AWS infrastructure using IAC tooling such as Terraform or CloudFormation
4+ years of hands-on experience building CI pipelines and automation (build, test, performance)
Experience designing and building containerization solutions (infrastructure, pipelines, automation) using tools such as Docker (Dockerfiles, ECS, ECS Fargate) or Kubernetes (manifests, Helm and deployment tooling, KOPS, EKS, or Fargate)
Expertise with core AWS services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, S3 and RDS
Understanding of AWS security controls, network boundary controls and related toolsets
Experience managing database engines
Knowledge of AWS’s Well-Architected Framework
Experience with Configuration Management and Configuration Orchestration tools
Experience with one or more scripting languages (e.g. Bash, Powershell, Ruby, or Python)
Experience translating requirements into LOE estimates, design documents and project plans
Experience building and administering web application environments
Occasional off-hours support, depending on client need
AWS Associate-level Certification (required within 90 days of employment)
