• Partner closely with organization-wide teams including infrastructure, machine learning, applications eng, product management, design, marketing, business analytics and others to build a clear vision prioritized roadmap for the architectural evolution of our tech stack. 

• Define and drive architectural strategy to enable a world class customer experience that includes quality, scalability, maintainability, and developer effectiveness as default characteristics.

• Have a hands on approach to building critical software components, help debugging during incidents.

• For each problem space, develop strong points of view for build vs. buy vs. partner. Prototype as needed to determine the best path forward.

• Get buy-in and drive energy towards the future direction from engineers and leadership. 

• Proactively identify risks and blockers that may delay the launch or impede the success of projects and work with partners to communicate effectively, assess alternatives, and take action to resolve.

• Provide coaching mentorship to other senior/staff engineers. Coordinate tech design review process, spearhead ways to collaborate with engineers across the organization to facilitate a strong engineering culture.

• Stay abreast of the latest technologies and industry trends to serve the interests and needs of the applications engineering team.
You have:

• 12+ years of experience in the software development industry, preferably in B2C companies at scale.

• 2+ years of experience as an Architect / Principal Engineer.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent, Master’s Degree preferred.

• You communicate clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.You are deep technically and can mentor and guide all levels of engineers.

• You're self-directed towards generating outcomes vs output.

• Strong record of thriving in a customer-obsessed product development environment with evidence of helping to define and influence overall product strategy.

• Experience in building high-scale service oriented systems that are optimized around speed, velocity and safety of development.

• An exceptional understanding of best practices for web technologies architecture — including but not limited to Databases, Ruby on Rails, Golang, Single Page Applications, Native App Development, React, Redux, JavaScript frontend frameworks and  application security best practices.

• Ability to set strategic direction in working with senior leaders, but also loves getting hands dirty executing critical components.

• Thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing, high-growth environment.

• Proactive, solution-oriented mindset and approach to problem solving.
Noce to have:

• Experience in rearchitecting legacy systems and large scale technology modernizations focused on platform development.

• Experience in subscription business models or loyalty systems.
