I don’t remember exactly how long it took before, but it was on the
order of 1/2 hour on any of my Macs when using “-j3” (PPC Dual G5 @
2.0 GHz, Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.16 GHz). With the changes, these times
are down to about 11 (7) minutes for the Intel Mac (with -j3), and 17
(12) for the PPC Mac (with -j3). Codus to Eric for getting compile
