Error using mysql store procedures

I’m getting this error using mysql store procedure in rails, this is the
error:

Mysql::Error: #0A000PROCEDURE db_dev.sp1 can’t return a result set in
the given context: CALL sp1 (‘engineer’);

In the mysql shell, it works fine, but not in rails. Any thoughts?
