Announcement (2017-05-07): www.ruby-forum.com is now read-only since I unfortunately do not have the time to support and maintain the forum any more. Please see rubyonrails.org/community and ruby-lang.org/en/community for other Rails- und Ruby-related community platforms.

My proposal for a BOF session at ETech was accepted!

Any Rails-folk in attendance on Tuesday are encouraged to come to
Elizabeth
Ballroom A between 8:30-930pm.

http://conferences.oreillynet.com/cs/et2006/view/e_sess/9113

The goal for the session is to discuss how we can empower ourselves to
return to our local peer communities and advocate Rails as the web
development technology people simply -should- be using. Right now we're
enjoying a groundswell of positive attention, but we're largely
preaching to
the converted.

Our company, Unspace Interactive, has had a tremendous response to its
announcement of Toronto Rails Pub Nite, an opportunity for web
development
geeks of all stripes to socialize in an informal setting. It is our
belief
that this sort of bridge-building is the vital first step for bringing
Rails
to a much larger audience than that which can typically be characterized
in
general by "developers that read blogs".

So, if you come out to this BOF, expect to talk about how you can start
a
local Rails Pub Nite in your city!

See you at ETech!
