Hey everyone, Sorry for the fairly short notice, but we'll have another implementer meeting on Jan 15th 23:00 (UTC). The official meeting should last no longer than 1 hour. Ruby language implementers and core team members are welcome to attend. I've posted the agenda on the wiki: https://bugs.ruby-lang.org/projects/ruby/wiki/Deve... If there is something you'd like to add to the agenda, please edit the wiki or email me. I will MC the meeting, and possibly have Eric do moderation (I haven't asked him if he's willing yet). The meeting will be held in IRC on freenode in #ruby-implementers. Make sure to put your IRC nick in the wiki (or tell me) so that you'll have voice in the channel. After the meeting is concluded, I'll send out a survey to participants so that I can improve the meetings in the future. If you do not wish to participate in the survey, please let me know.

Hey Aaron, I attempted to add my name, but it seems my Redmine account does not have access to edit that page? My IRC nick is "jballanc". Two other questions: 1. Keyword Arguments are already part of 2.0, so I assume this topic is on the agenda for the sake of clarification points (i.e. Bugs #7662, #7663, and #7664)? 2. Is it too soon to start talking about future features/issues? For example, I'd love to start discussions around Feature #6710 (https://bugs.ruby-lang.org/issues/6710), since I suspect it will take a while to work through all of the details. Cheers, Josh

Well that is lame. You have a redmine account, right? I thought that was all that is necessary. > My IRC nick is "jballanc". OK, you should be added. > Two other questions: > > 1. I'll add links to those issues in the agenda. > 2. Is it too soon to start talking about future features/issues? Nope, I don't think it's too early. I've added it to the agenda. Thanks!

Hello Aaron, I am unable to edit the wiki page myself. I would like voice in IRC, please. My IRC nickname is "ferrous26". Thanks, Mark

I'm worried about issues with Enumerator::Lazy. Should we discuss this at the meeting? The problems are that the public API for Lazy.new needs to be finalized (#7248) and that handling internal state is problematic, both for MRI (#7691, #7696) and for the user implementations.

Hello Aaron, I have been able to edit the wiki page, but I haven't been able to enter the IRC channel. If that's going to work by the time of the meeting, then fine. Otherwise, I'd appreciate information on what I'm doing wrong. (I tried both with Opera and with LimeChat. It says I don't have the right to access the channel.) Regards, Martin.

I didn't check ruby-core before starting the meeting, or I would have added this to the list. I'm really sorry. I will check the mailing list before starting the meeting next time. > The problems are that the public API for Lazy.new needs to be finalized > (#7248) and that handling internal state is problematic, both for MRI > (#7691, #7696) and for the user implementations. I guess we'll have to discuss this on Redmine until the next meeting. :(

@Martin: Do you have a registered username/did you log into your user name? The channel might of been on "-R"? I don't remember. I've also had good luck with using the webchat client: http://webchat.freenode.net/ On Wed, Jan 16, 2013 at 11:23 AM, Aaron Patterson
