Requests to captchator.com/captcha are currently getting a 502 response. I have temporarily disabled captchas on my site, but the spam posts are beginning to flow in. Are there any backup instances of captchator available to point my site at while this problem is happening? How do others' apps handle captchator downtime?

I'm switching to reCAPTCHA. I'll probably use the recaptcha gem by ambethia: https://github.com/ambethia/recaptcha Mike Mcc wrote in post #1087586: > Requests to captchator.com/captcha are currently getting a 502 response. > I have temporarily disabled captchas on my site, but the spam posts are > beginning to flow in. > > Are there any backup instances of captchator available to point my site > at while this problem is happening? > > How do others' apps handle captchator downtime?

Hi there ! Do you plan to fix the problem soon or do we have to move to another captcha system ? Thanks for your answer !!!

Users of my site have found reCaptcha to be too difficult. EasyCaptchas.com is quite similar to captchator in implementation and ease of passing. They are so similar that I've just made an application setting that switches which which service is used.

We are also a user of Captchator and am wondering if we need to replace it ASAP on our sites or if it is a temporary outage???

I suggest to use RainCaptcha service ( http://raincaptcha.driversworld.us/ ). It can be implemented exactly the same way as Captchator. The only difference is the URL you use to get captcha images and check responses.
