HI,

I noticed that redmine.ruby-lang.org(bugs.ruby-lang.org) is suffering
for spam messages through news comment.

https://bugs.ruby-lang.org/news/2
https://bugs.ruby-lang.org/news/3

Please take an appropriate measure against it.

Regards,

Park Heesob

Thanks for reporting.
I limit non members to comment news and edit wiki,
and locked users who commented those news and removed comments.

Thanks,

Many thanks. However, I think that to reduce spam from redmine on the
ruby-... mailing lists, it would really be a good idea to do something
like captcha.

Regards, Martin.

They pass mail authentication and write spam.
So I think they spam by hand and captcha is useless.

Agreed.

Shouldn't we delete the messages from the mailing list archives? I'm not
very knowledgeable on spam, but currently this gives them some SEO
opportunities, no?

First time posters could be subject to a 24h delay before they can post
again.

My understanding is that they are indeed deleted. But I may be wrong.
Yui, if you need more hands to help you delete spam, please say so.

(the problem is that even if their postings are deleted from Redmine,
they will stay in mailing list archives.

That would be the most efficient measure against the redmine spam. Is
such a measure possible?
