Forum: NGINX Does log phase counts as active connection?

Hi,
Assume my server datastorage is not responding where I am logging
access.log/error.log and some analytics logs using lua.
If I am running nginx as single worker and  I  have set a  limit of 1024 
max
connections in nginx and 1000 connections are waiting in log phase.
How many connection nginx can accept at that time?
24 more or 1024 more?
