Forum: Ruby on Rails What is '@used' in session file for flash?

Announcement (2017-05-07): www.ruby-forum.com is now read-only since I unfortunately do not have the time to support and maintain the forum any more. Please see rubyonrails.org/community and ruby-lang.org/en/community for other Rails- und Ruby-related community platforms.

When I don't turn sessions off, I get a ton of files that either
contain:

"       hash{"
flashIC:'ActionController::Flash::FlashHash{:
@used{

or:

"       hash{

This leads to think that they're not being used for anything (since
they're empty, and if flash is
used, its session file contains its value). How can I prevent these
empty session files from being
created in the first place (and still have flash work)?

thanks
csn
