With a few success stories finally making their way out (and the many
more to come I’m sure), I though I would bring up a post I did a while
ago:
Long story short, I work in the Defense industry, getting new
software, like MRI, can be a very daunting task. JRuby however was a
simple drop in to our existing accepted Java ways. And in no time at
all I had a few Rails applications up and running and an instance of
Redmine for issue tracking.
And sure enough the very next day I received an e-mail from a
gentleman across the country working at another one of our sites (he
looked up my name in the corporate address book and took a shot in the
dark hoping it was me) who had read that post and was working to do
the same exact thing but had hit a few snags. After we exchanged a
few e-mails, he was up and running as well.
I also have to thank anyone who has ever resolved any issues I’ve
submitted as the turn around time on some of these tickets has been
incredible. Fantastic work everyone, it’s been a pleasure working
with JRuby and watching it grow.
