We currently have a 3 month contract position open.

You will be working with a team of highly skilled and experienced RUBY
on RAILS developers on a range of hosted mobile interactive applications
for mass-participation. Mobile Interactive Group has recently won
several awards for its innovative and high-performance products and is
now de-facto market leader for mobile interactive applications for the
media industry.

In this role you will own multiple application platforms for the group
and will share your architecture experience with the rest of the team.
Your experience will be shared continuously with your colleagues within
and outside the development team and your expertise will be passed on to
junior staff who are still learning on the job.

Your input will be key to the success of our products and you will
benefit from involvement in all stages of the user experience from
use-case design to application build and test.

You will have
o 2+ years experience in Ruby on Rails
o 4+ years experience in Perl
o 5+ years experience in object oriented programming
o 4+ year experience in relational databases like MySQL
o 5+ years experience in command line Unix/Linux use
o 1+ years experience in test driven development

Good working knowledge of the Ruby and Perl command set and the
model-view-controller approach are essential. Expert skills in
command-line configuration, navigation and analysis on UNIX systems is a
pre-requisite.

Other desirable skills: Experience in working with Bugzilla and
Subversion

Given the challenges of the mobile interactive development area, the
successful candidate will have demonstrable troubleshooting skills as
well as being able to show excellent problem solving ability.

You're a good communicator and self-starter. You enjoy working in a team
environment, cope well with pressure, and have a genuine enthusiasm for
IT, together with a "can do" attitude.
