Hello list,

I have just gotten GNUradio to install on Ubuntu 8.04 after a little bit
of work and I am attempting to test the installation - it seems to have
run OK, however I can't get the examples to run.. The error I get is:-

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "./", line 23, in <module>
    from gnuradio import gr
  File "/usr/local/lib/python2.5/site-packages/gnuradio/gr/",
line 43, in <module>
    from gnuradio_swig_python import *
line 23, in <module>
    from gnuradio_swig_py_runtime import *
line 6, in <module>
    import _gnuradio_swig_py_runtime
ImportError: cannot open shared object file: No
such file or directory

What is going wrong?

  Add /usr/local/lib to /etc/

then run

  $ sudo ldconfig
