Responsibilities
- Execute development, implementation, and refinement of systems
supporting our online sites—content management and publishing, blogs,
search, content syndication, video delivery, and so on - Work within small development teams driving concepts through
wireframes, engineering, test, launch, and ongoing iteration - Build web-based software using core technologies like Ruby on Rails,
PHP, and Java
Qualifications
- 5 - 8 years of software engineering experience
- At least a bachelors in computer science or related engineering
discipline - Strong web development skills including familiarity and experience
with Java (JSPs, servlets), PHP, or Ruby on Rails - Familiarity with XHTML, and CSS
- Understanding of Apache web server, Tomcat, and the PHP module
- Understanding of XML and other W3C standards
- Comfortable working on Linux
- Highly flexible and extremely efficient, doesn’t mind multiple
iterations on the way to the right answers. - Comfortable working closely with developers in small team
environment on tight deadlines - Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Extreme
Programming, or UP a plus
