Forum: Ruby on Rails rails-1.2.3 to 2.1.1 give memcache-client error

my old project is in rails-1.2.3
i installed rails-2.1.1.gem
i changed RAILS_GEM_VERSION='2.1.1' in environment.rb
i started script/server webrick
everything is fine

when i checked in browser  http://localhost:3000
500 Internal Server Error

is memcahe-client compatible with rails-2.1.1 ?

I had the same error, but I shamefully found out my memcached daemon
wasn't running.  A

  # memcached -u www-data

solved it all.
